The summertime is when Greenwich, CT, shines! From the coastline to Greenwich Ave, there’s an endless amount of experiences for the whole family in the summer months.

Keep reading for five things to do this summer in Greenwich, CT!

Greenwich Summer Concerts

I always look forward to the Greenwich Parks and Recreation summer concert series! Not only do you get to enjoy free live music, but you also get to spend an afternoon in one of Greenwich’s many outdoor spaces.

Held in various parks and venues throughout the town, these concerts showcase talented local musicians and bands across different genres. From jazz to rock, classical to pop, there's something to suit every musical taste – plus, you might discover a genre you never knew you loved!

On Wednesday nights, the place to be is Roger Sherman Baldwin Park! With concerts starting at 7 p.m., you can look forward to seeing these bands:

  • June 28: The Bob Button Orchestra - 30’s, 40’s Swing

  • July 12: Sun Kings - Beatles Tribute

  • July 19: The Short Bus - Upbeat Vocal Rock

  • July 26: Gunsmoke - Country

  • August 2: Sounds of Sinatra - Tribute Band

  • August 16: Wooden Horse - Tribute to CSNY & America

  • August 23: Billy and the Showmen - R&B

On Sunday nights, head to Binney Park for a relaxing afternoon of music from the Sound Beach Community Band!

I recommend packing a blanket and bringing a picnic basket to fully enjoy the music-filled evenings. This waterproof picnic blanket from Mark & Graham is perfect for fitting the whole family.

Try Out a New Sport in Greenwich

One of my family’s favorite ways to spend a summer day is to grab brunch and hit the golf course! It’s a popular activity around Greenwich, so you’ll have your fair share of course options:

  • Griffith E. Harris Golf Course

  • E. Gaynor Brennan (Stamford)

  • Sterling Farms Golf Course (Stamford)

Of course, if you’re not into the golf scene, there are plenty of other ways to stay active around Greenwich in the summer months.

Growing in popularity, pickleball is another great activity to get the whole family involved! All you’ll need is a court and a pickleball set – this one from Recess comes with paddles, case covers, and pickleballs:

An easy way to gain access to all of Greenwich’s public beaches, parks, golf courses, tennis courts, pickleball courts, and marine facilities is to purchase the OnePass. The OnePass with a Tennis & Pickleball Pass is required for all “in season” play on courts in town. Click here to sign your household up for a OnePass.

Greenwich Art Society's Outdoor Art Show

If you’re an art lover, then you will not want to miss the Greenwich Art Society's Outdoor Art Show, a highly anticipated event held in the scenic Roger Sherman Baldwin Park.

This juried exhibition features an array of artwork created by talented artists from the local community and beyond. Stroll through the open-air gallery, admire diverse art forms, and maybe even find the perfect piece to incorporate into your home.

The show also offers interactive activities, demonstrations, and opportunities to engage with the artists themselves.

Explore Greenwich’s Beaches & Parks

Greenwich boasts an abundance of natural beauty, providing the perfect backdrop for a summer day. Of course, the quintessential summer day in Greenwich, CT, includes a day at the beach.

With all of the options available around town, I’ve put together a helpful guide to which area has which amenities & activities:

Whenever visiting friends and family come to Greenwich, one of my first stops with them is Greenwich Point. It’s especially fun come July, when it’s time for the Sandblast Sand Sculpture Festival! Fun fact: Because Tod’s Point is a peninsula, you can watch the sun rise and set from here, A.K.A. you could literally spend the entire perfect summer day here.

For a more immersive “wilderness” experience, visit the Audubon Center in Greenwich. This 285-acre sanctuary offers nature lovers an opportunity to observe local wildlife, hike through scenic trails, and participate in educational programs. The center also hosts guided canoe trips, giving you a unique perspective on the area!

Greenwich International Film Festival

Film enthusiasts should mark their calendars for the Greenwich International Film Festival, an annual event that celebrates the art of cinema.

Known for showcasing compelling films with a focus on social impact, this festival attracts renowned filmmakers, actors, and industry professionals from around the world.

With a membership, you can also attend exciting events throughout the year, including advanced screenings of upcoming movies

From exploring pristine beaches and lush parks to indulging in art, music, and film festivals, there’s something for everyone in Greenwich. As your resident Greenwich, CT, expert real estate agent, I’d be happy to show you around or help you find your dream home!
